Colbert: Moby 'More Reliable Than Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer'

Stephen Colbert opened The Late Show Friday by addressing the wild Donald Trump conspiracy theories that Moby recently posted about on social media.

In a Tuesday Instagram post, the Play artist wrote that “friends who work in D.C.” confided in him that the president is being blackmailed into colluding with the Russian government. The singer added that a war with Iran, and an inevitable Trump impeachment, was also on the horizon.

“You know you can trust Moby: He’s got connections in the highest echelons of Washington’s vegan cafes,” Colbert joked. “If you’re wondering when Moby’s Instagram became the public record, it was shortly after Trump’s Twitter feed became the Library of Congress.”

Colbert also touched on the case of Tom Arnold, who for months has claimed that he has footage of Trump saying “the n-word” numerous times during the filming of Celebrity Apprentice.

While neither celebrity’s claims have been backed by evidence, and even though the host doesn’t think either Moby or Arnold are credible, “Things are so weird right now that Moby and Tom Arnold seem more reliable than Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer,” Colbert said.
