George Michael's 'Listen Without Prejudice' Reissue Sets Release

In coordination with the Showtime documentary George Michael: Freedom, the singer’s Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 will be reissued as a multi-disc set featuring Michael’s MTV Unplugged concert as well as B-sides and other rarities.

Originally scheduled to arrive in November 2016, the then-25th anniversary reissue was postponed several times in the aftermath of Michael’s death. However, the reissue – available both as a 2CD and deluxe 3CD/DVD set – officially arrives on October 20th, a day before George Michael: Freedom premieres on Showtime.

The reissue includes the remastered Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 alongside Michael’s MTV Unplugged concert, which the singer recorded at London’s Three Mills Island Studios in October 1996. The reissue marks the first time the Unplugged performance will be made available as an album.

The deluxe set also includes Michael’s “Fantasy” with Nile Rodgers along with B-sides, remixes and single edits from the era. Additionally, Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1 will receive a vinyl reissue.

George Michael: Freedom, narrated by Michael himself, also features interviews with artists like Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Mark Ronson, Mary J. Blige and Oasis’ Liam Gallagher as well as all five supermodels seen in the “Freedom ’90” video: Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista and Tatjana Patitz.

On the Charts: Rapper NF Grabs First Number One With 'Perception'

Michigan rapper NF notched this first career Number One album as his new LP Perception debuted atop the Billboard 200.

Perception sold 55,000 total copies – 38,000 of which were traditional copies – to give NF, born Nate Feuerstein, the top spot. The rapper’s previous Billboard 200 peak was Number 12 with 2016’s Therapy Session. However, the 55,000 copies marked the lowest-selling total for a Number One-debuting album in 2017, Billboard reports, and fifth lowest since 2014.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Greatest Hits remained steady at Number Two for a second straight week as fans continued to mourn the death of the rock icon; the best-of collection totaled 47,000 copies, including 29,000 traditional album sales.

Miami rapper Lil Pump established a new personal Billboard 200 high as his self-titled album opened at Number Three and 46,000 copies. Of that total, only 6,000 were from traditional album sales, with 38,000 copies coming from streaming equivalent albums, or SEAs.

Marilyn Manson’s Heaven Upside Down was the last of the new releases to crack the Top 10, with the shock rocker’s latest entering at Number Eight and 35,000 total copies.

Ten months after Post Malone’s Stoney debuted and peaked at Number Six on the Billboard 200, the album climbed to Number Four on the strength of Malone’s recent hits “Rockstar” and “I Fall Apart.” Kane Brown’s self-titled debut also jumped back into the Top 10 at Number Five thanks to a deluxe reissue of the album.

A Boogie With da Hoodie’s The Bigger Artist (Number Six), Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv Is Rage 2 (Seven), Imagine Dragons’ Evolve (Nine) and Ed Sheeran’s Divide (Number 10) rounded out the Top 10. Shania Twain’s Now, last week’s Number One, and Miley Cyrus’ Younger Now both fell out of the Top 10 after one week.

Pink’s Beautiful Trauma is expected to debut at Number One next week, with Beck’s Colors and Gucci Mane’s Mr. Davis also cracking the Top 10.

Watch Prophets of Rage Salute Colin Kaepernick in New Video

Prophets of Rage – the supergroup/“elite task force of revolutionary musicians” featuring members of Rage Against the Machine, Public Enemy and Cypress Hill – salute peaceful protest and slam gun culture with their gripping “Strength in Numbers” video.

The clip confronts racial tension embedded in the NFL national anthem debate, pairing shots of protesting players with vintage footage of actors in black face and Mickey Mouse working on a chain gang. The visual also touches on America’s fetishization of violence, weaving in scenes from gun shows and people giddily firing weapons for fun.

The video notably concludes with the close-up of Vice President Pence, standing with hand proudly planted on his chest, during the “Star-Spangled Banner” at an Indianapolis Colts game earlier this month.

In a statement about the clip, Chuck D wrote, “ALMOST anything can be built or toppled with a collective force. A movement is never about an individual. On the opposition of Colin Kaepernick in today’s sports world, we ask ‘is it the KNEE or is it The NEGRO'”?

“Strength in Numbers” appears on Prophets of Rage’s self-titled debut LP, which they issued last month.

Justin Bieber's Reptilian Roots: Music's Most WTF Conspiracy Theories, Explained

Just in case you’ve ever wondered whether it’s actually possible to trace conspiracy theories back to their origins, here’s one where you can. In March 2017, an eyebrow-raising headline started circulating the Internet: “Hundreds of Fans Claim They Saw Justin Bieber Turn Into a Giant Reptile.”

The original website where the article allegedly appeared was Australian news site Perth Now. In the article, several anonymous sources gave colorful descriptions of the supposed scene they saw unfolding before them: Apparently, the Biebz was careless while shapeshifting at a Perth airport, and not one, not two, but hundreds of fans witnessed the pop star undergo a drastic transformation from well-coiffed singer into slimy lizard person, better known as a reptilian.

One particularly memorable quote from the article was attributed to a “local skater,” who said that Bieber “was hanging around with this big guy, his bodyguard I guess, and we were just staring because he kept turning into a huge reptile. His bodyguard was pointing at us, shouting that he’d kick our teeth in if we didn’t put our phones away.”

Another onlooker told the site that “there were girls hiding in toilets, crying. Guys were running for the exits, jumping into taxis to get out of there.” Someone said they saw his eyes go black; another person claimed the singer grew taller and had gross scales all over his body. Basically, there was chaos, there were phones and people were recording the entire, terrifying scene.

Except, there weren’t any videos of the alleged transformation. Adding to the confusion, Buzzfeed News, who first took note of the odd story, was told by Perth Now’s head of digital content that the site never even published the piece in the first place. In other words, fake news.

Not that this was the first time Bieber has been accused of being part-reptile. In 2014, The Daily Dot published a story about the pop star’s arrest that year, with a video of Bieber looking glum in court. Eagle-eyed fans noticed something strange about the way the sleepy-eyed singer blinked in the video, claiming that he was blinking the way only a lizard can. The clip has more than three million views.

And Justin Bieber isn’t the only famous person who’s been accused of being a reptilian. Other very prominent individuals have been labeled lizard people in the past as well, people like Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Mark Zuckerberg, Bob Hope and Queen Elizabeth. The idea behind this theory is that flesh-eating, shape-shifting extraterrestrial reptilian humanoids were sent here to earth to enslave the human race (hence the focus on famous, powerful individuals), and these were the ones we got.

Former BBC sports reporter David Icke, who published an entire collection of books about the conspiracy, is often cited as the authority on this theory. In his books, he has interviews with witnesses who say they’ve seen these reptilians transform with their own eyes, and he even blames reptilians for a number of historic tragedies, including the Holocaust, the Oklahoma City bombings and the September 11th attacks. Icke has even claimed that lizard people are behind other super secret societies like the Freemasons and the Illuminati.

Would that mean, then, that Bey and Jay are superhuman lizard people too? One can only wonder.

Watch Emily Haines' Haunting 'Legend of the Wild Horse' Video

Metric singer Emily Haines unveiled a haunting new video for “Legend of the Wild Horse,” a song off Choir of the Mind, her first solo album with the Soft Skeleton in over a decade.

Continuing the story previously outlined in Haines’ videos for “Planets,” “Statuette,” and “Fatal Gift,” the singer stars as both a mother living a mundane suburban life and the red hooded doppelgänger who stalks her. After Haines passes out watching golf on TV, her double enters the room, knife in hand, and ultimately replaces the singer in the household, with the mother character now locked out of her own home.

“Society at large, humanity at large, is still drawn downward to our worst instincts in so many places,” Haines told W Magazine of the video. “Our worst instincts are, unfortunately, situated right next to our best instincts, and the things that make us genuine and authentic are situated next to our vices of greed and violence and narrow-mindedness and bias.”

Justin Broadbent, who helmed Choir of the Mind‘s previous visuals, also directed “Legend of the Wild Horse.”

Choir of the Mind follows 2006’s Knives Don’t Have Your Back. In June, Haines spoke to Rolling Stone about her new album and her body of work with Metric and beyond.

“There’s something so appealing to me about the idea that I dedicated my life to being a sound, which is a super strange mandate to set out, but I’ve done it and I am a sound,” Haines said.

“And to be able to on this record really explore through all the voicings – instead of doing orchestration as I’ve done in the past, I just did choral arrangements and I found that by layering all that stuff and allowing words to be said in different ways with different emotions and different character there was like – I just got the closest I feel I ever have to the essence of what I am as a sound. Not like a chick in a band or playing a synth or wearing whatever I’m wearing; just a human being who is somehow still going strong in a very unlikely field.”
