See Drake, Will Ferrell as 'Handshake Coaches' in NBA Awards Sketch

Drake, the host of the inaugural NBA Awards, kicked off the show Monday night by starring alongside Will Ferrell in a sketch about “handshake coaches.”

In the two-minute sketch, the rapper, as “NBA handshake specialist” Coach Palmer, and the actor – as Coach Murphy, an NBA Dexterity Technician – are tasked with improving a team’s celebration game.

“Guys, we’ve seen a lot plays from you today, but your handshakes…” Drake says. Ferrell interjects, “Your handshakes aren’t worth dog crap. If you score and your handshake sucks, we will trade you!”

Toronto Raptors star Demar Derozan protests the coaches’ strategy, leading Drake to quip, “Demar I say it, the less I like it.”

Ferrell and Drake then teach the players a series of over-the-top celebrations, including “the Jenga,” “the Gossip Queen, “the Obi-Wan Kenobi” and, most controversially, “the Black Dad.”

The NBA Awards will also feature a performance by Nicki Minaj.

Watch DJ Khaled, Nas, Travis Scott in Cinematic 'It's Secured' Video

DJ Khaled unites with Nas and Travis Scott in his action movie-styled video for “It’s Secured,” an all-star collaboration from the producer’s newly released 10th album, Grateful.

Director Eif Rivera cuts between three scenes: the trio rapping near an underpass, a glitzy party hyping high-dollar alcohol and a robbery getaway that ends in a police chase and armed standoff. At various points, Scott performs the song’s descending, auto-tuned hook while standing on a truck.

As he often does, Nas dominates the cut with a laid-back verse about his rap legacy. “For them it was hustle or death; I reshuffled my deck,” he rhymes over Khaled’s unrelenting synths. “I gave myself a good hand/ Probably ran through a hundred million/ Per decade, I’m not phased.”

Scott also joined Khaled, Rick Ross and Big Sean on Grateful track “On Everything” and appeared in its recently issued video. Nas joined the producer on “Nas Album Done” from Khaled’s 2016 LP, Major Key.

Watch Remy Ma Reignite Nicki Minaj Feud at BET Awards 2017

Remy Ma reignited her feud with Nicki Minaj while accepting the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award at the 2017 BET Awards. Remy Ma’s trophy ended a seven-year streak for Minaj as the recipient of the top honor in that category.

Accepting the award for the first time since 2005, Remy Ma showed her gratitude to her friends, family and peers during her speech. Then, she proceeded to subliminally diss Minaj with a brief rap about the “No Frauds” rapper. “Y’all bitches got fat while we starved/Shots in your ass, pads in your bras,” she ferociously delivered to a crowd responding with mixed reactions. “Y’all some liars it ain’t no facts in your songs/And yeah, that crown is coming back to the Bronx.”

The two rappers have been feuding for a decade now, with Minaj being the source of the series of diss tracks. As soon as Remy Ma began re-launching her career after being released from prison, she made it clear that the beef was in no way over for her by rapping over Minaj’s “Truffle Butter” beat. Minaj fired back earlier this year when she mentioned Remy Ma on Gucci Mane’s “Make Love” and Jason Derulo’s “Swalla.” The Bronx rapper then came back with the vicious “Shether” before Minaj retorted with her Young Money cohorts on the hit “No Frauds.”
