Janet Jackson Announces State of the World Tour

Janet Jackson has announced a massive North American trek to reschedule her Unbreakable Tour that was postponed due to the singer’s pregnancy, with Jackson set to embark on a rebranded trek starting in September.

“I’m continuing my tour as I promised,” Jackson said Monday night in a video to fans. The rescheduled trek features 56 shows and begins September 7th in Lafayette, Louisiana and concludes December 17th in Atlanta.

Tickets from the postponed Unbreakable Tour gigs will be honored at the new dates, while newly scheduled stops will go on sale starting May 5th at Live Nation.

However, the Unbreakable Tour – titled after Jackson’s 2015 album but a target of mockery because of the many postponements and cancellations the tour endured before it was indefinitely postponed with over 70 dates remaining – has undergone a name change.

“I decided to change the name of the tour: State of the World Tour,” Jackson said. “It’s not about politics. It’s about people, the world, relationships, and just love.”

In the 90-second-long video, Jackson also briefly touched on her experiences as a mother of a newborn as well as confirmed that she and Wissam Al Mana, her husband of five years, are divorcing. “Yes, I separated from my husband. We are in court and the rest is in God’s hands,” she said.

Here Is Rihanna's Crazy, Show-Stopping Look at Met Gala 2017

Didn’t disappoint! Rihanna stunned at the 2017 Met Gala, where the singer and red carpet mainstay sashayed in a show-stopping outfit that instantly became the talk of social media.

This year’s Met Gala theme was an ode to Commes des Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo, with many of the celebrities in attendance wearing garments both crafted and inspired by the longtime designer whose being honored by the Costume Institute.

Rihanna opted for an offbeat gown designed by Kawakubo herself, a billowing, formless marvel seemingly constructed out of floral patterns. The singer finished out the look with a pair of heels that laced up the length of her legs.

Other celebrities in attendance for this year’s Met Gala include Courtney Love and daughter Frances Bean Cobain, Katy Perry (who wore a dress by a controversial designer), Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas and many more.

Watch Lady Gaga's Dizzying 'The Cure' Lyric Video

Lady Gaga has unleashed her new lyric video for “The Cure,” the surprise single the singer debuted during her headlining Coachella set in April.

The lyric video features Gaga lounging in an all-satin room while the camera floats around, giving the visual a dreamlike quality.

However, the lyrics themselves swirl and twist around the frame, flickering from black to white in seizure-tempting fashion; Gaga fans on social media have noted that – for a lyric video – the words are difficult to read without triggering dizziness.

The one-off single “The Cure” arrived just six months after Gaga released her latest LP Joanne

After performing halftime at the Super Bowl and headlining Coachella, Gaga’s 2017 will get even busier as the singer embarks on her Joanne World Tour while also filming a remake of A Star Is Born alongside Bradley Cooper; the pair recently shot scenes for that movie while Gaga was at Coachella.

The Game Sues Viacom for $20 Million Over Sexual Assault Verdict

The Game has filed a $20 million negligence lawsuit against Viacom. The rapper recently paid $7.1 million to the company following a sexual assault case in connection to his now-defunct VH1 reality show, She’s Got Game. The rapper, real name Jayceon Taylor, alleges Viacom failed to protect him against contestant Priscilla Rainey, who accused Taylor of sexually assaulting her during an “after hours date,” according to the Hollywood Reporter

In November 2016, a jury ruled in Rainey’s favor and awarded her $7.1 million. In a new complaint filed Monday in a California federal court, Taylor (the Game) argues that the network failed to ensure contestants were suitable to compete on the program. The suit alleges that Rainey passed a psychological exam during the casting process, but the doctor approved her without seeing court documents detailing her criminal past.

The complaint states that Viacom “chose ratings over protecting the Plaintiff and others,” given that they “had knowledge of Rainey’s violent and extensive arrest history.” It also asserts that “Defendants knew, or should have known, that Rainey was Baker Acted in 2012,” referring to Florida’s Mental Health Act of 1971, which permits the involuntary institutionalization of an individual.

The lawsuit cites multiple “troublesome incidents on the show,” including “acts of intimidation, verbal abuse, as well as instances of physical violence and threats.” These allegedly included Rainey “[threatening] to cut off the hair of another contestant while she slept.”

In addition to his claims of negligence, the 1992 rapper also brought counts for negligent misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, negligent infliction of emotional distress and breach of fiduciary duty.

Representatives for Viacom and the Game declined to comment.

Watch Amber Coffman Dance With Bald Eagle in 'No Coffee' Video

Amber Coffman flirts with a sharply dressed bald eagle in her wacky “No Coffee” video. Director Zia Anger captures the former Dirty Projectors singer in a lovestruck daze as she gazes longingly out her apartment window, crunches a full styrofoam cup full of coffee, zooms around in an office chair and croons into a gas station pump.

In a statement, Coffman describes the clip as “a bit of a commentary on the American Dream, which I think informs a lot of our romantic endeavors, and often times in a not-so-healthy or fulfilling way.”

The soulful “No Coffee” highlights Coffman’s upcoming debut LP, City of No Reply, out June 2nd. The 11-track album also features her recently released single “All to Myself.”

In a new interview with Pitchfork, Coffman said she hoped to avoid being “pinned down into any one style” with her debut. “[That’s] why I veered away from working with electronic producers,” she said. “I tried writing over beats people would give me, and it just felt too limiting. When I first started this whole journey, I didn’t really know how it was gonna come together or who was gonna work on it. It was very open.”
