See Dustin Lynch Bring Heart-Pounding 'Hell of a Night' to 'Today'

Dustin Lynch brought his just-on-the-cusp of going Number One hit “Hell of a Night” to the early crowd this morning, performing the rising single on NBC’s Today show on the heels of announcing his first headlining tour.

Armed with his signature cowboy hat — and a few extras for the Today hosts — Lynch, a Tennessee native, took the hard-rock party anthem to the plaza stage, continuing the program’s very country-friendly summer (Maddie & Tae performed just yesterday).

Lynch also sat down for a quick chat with Today‘s Willie Geist and company, talking up his ever-growing collection of 10-gallons, which has become his signature look — in addition to those Luke Bryan-esque pearly whites. “I have dozens and dozens,” he said of his headwear. “There is an office of cowboy hats.”

“Hell of a Night” is currently Number Two on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, as the second single from his 2014 sophomore release Where It’s At. After touring most recently with mentor Bryan, Lynch will set out on his first headlining run this November, which kicks off in Richmond, Virginia, under a pretty basic doctrine that he shared on Today: “Party hard and have fun.”

“Luke’s been an incredible friend and boss,” Lynch told Rolling Stone Country about his experience with the “Strip It Down” singer, which will no doubt inform his solo tour — and his choreography. “He took me under his wing, and showed me how to do it right. And showed me some dance moves. Definitely some dance moves.”
